The patriarchal cultural beliefs and traditions that emphasise on male assertiveness and domination of women influence the constructions of masculinity and reinforce domestic violence. WebDomestic violence can be a single act or a pattern of behavior in relationships, which encompass dating, marriage, family and roommate relationships. It is a violation of the right we all have to healthy, supportive and safe relationships. Survivor: the individual who is being targeted for abuse. Abuser: the individual who is inflicting the abuse.
